PH.D. Organic Chemist:

As a member of the organic chemistry lab, you will be focused on manufacturing small molecules. To be
successful in this role, you will need a strong synthetic organic chemistry background and be able to
carry out multi-step, diverse chemical reactions on complex  chemicals, analytical reagents, as well as
natural product derivatives and potential drug candidates.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Ability to independently synthesize  target compounds in a suitable time, purity, form and quantity.
  • Collate data and information on structure/purity of synthesized compounds and can interpret moderate to complex spectra.
  • Champions new techniques, reagents and methodology in medicinal chemistry and ensures such knowledge is disseminated throughout the department.
  • Carry out and optimize synthesis and scale-up strategies.
  • Solve complex production and quality challenges.
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures, complete batch records, perform data analysis, and present results and production updates.
  • Understand and support the new product development process.
Our ideal candidate has:
  • Ph.D.  in  Organic  Chemistry, with 5+ years of experience in  organic  chemistry,  heterocyclic chemistry,  and complex multi-step synthetic reactions  preferably in bioactive small molecule synthesis.
  • Ability to read and search scientific and patent literature.
  • In depth knowledge of chemical and biological laboratory techniques and instruments such as 1-H NMR/ 13C-NMR,  IR Spectroscopy, Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Cary-50, UV-vis Spectroscopy, GC-Mass Spectrometry, LC-Mass Spectrometry.
  • Experience in the synthesis of enzyme substrate/inhibitors and bioactive lipid derivatives
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills along with well-developed oral and written communication capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and be flexible in responding to changing demands.
